Today we’d like to introduce you to Paresh Goel, MD.
Dr. Goel, before we jump into specific questions about the your practice, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been in practice since 2010 and I am also the founder of Desert Mobile Medical | Concierge Physicians. I grew up in the New York Metro area and completed my B.S. & M.B.A. in Finance & Economics at St John’s University in NY. I then attended medical school at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in India and completed both my Internship & Residency programs at Brookdale University Medical Center in NY. People always ask me about the big jump from Business to Medicine and I always tell them the story of my ACL repair and originally falling in love with being an Orthopedist. I had to be a physician from that time on and followed my dream. It wasn’t until I was in my clinical rotations in Medical School that I found Internal Medicine and Primary Care. It intrigued me to be able to decipher the ailments someone might have just by inquisitively listening and performing a thorough examination. I was hooked, and thus started my overall journey to where I am today.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think I was always born to be a Physician. My dad is a Cardiologist and my sister is an Internist. Of course, medical school and all the hoops that one needs to jump through to become a physician were tumultuous and difficult, but I don’t look at it as a bumpy road. It was just the obstacles that needed to be overcome to do what my heart always told me I was supposed to do. While in residency, I excelled in clinical practice, first and foremost by being a great listener as well as having an impeccable bedside manner. It’s through insurance based practice that I learned that I was spending more time with my computer than with my patients. That’s when I realized there needed to be a better method of health care delivery to my patients, thus creating Desert Mobile Medical | Concierge Physicians. We focus on house calls, which allows us to spend the quality of time that our patients so greatly deserve.
Please tell us about your practice.
I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. I have worked in Hospital Medicine at the Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center, Banner Thunderbird and HonorHealth Shea & Osborn campuses, as well as Banner Baywood & The Heart Institute. I honed my skills as a Primary Care Physician, Geriatrician & Internist in private practice & being employed at Geriatric Solutions. I also have served as a Hospice Director for Hospice of the Valley in the recent past as well. While working in all these heavily laden health insurance sectors, I realized how much health insurance was taking away from the availability of the physician to the patients and that the doctor was no longer working for the patient, but in reality for a health insurance company or a government entity.
I am currently also the Medical Director for Modern Recovery Services, as well as sitting on the board for some non-profit organizations.
Continually striving to provide superior patient care along with the bleeding edge, state of the art medical technology, I started Desert Mobile Medical | Concierge Physicians in 2018 aiming to provide comfort, convenience and transparency in a healthcare industry that is stifled with poor customer service and opaqueness. The cornerstone of Desert Mobile Medical | Concierge Physicians is the service of House Calls.
We provide house calls in much the same way it used to occur before health insurance plans got in the way of the patient-doctor relationship. Desert Mobile Medical | Concierge Physicians truly is the throwback of yesteryear when things were just done right the first time.
I am also a National Speaker on Health & Wellness, a published author, and am fond of teaching the up and coming generation of future doctors & nurses.
I have a wonderfully cute daughter of two years of age whom I love to spend time with, as well as a love for reading up on world history and also a passion for cooking.https://voyagephoenix.com/interview/meet-paresh-goel-md-desert-mobile-medical-phoenix-valley/
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In 2020, we do have big plans. We are just on-boarding another Physician who has joined the group. We have just rolled out Medical Aesthetics & Skincare, as well as at home Physical Therapy. We will soon be introducing Medical Massage & IV Nutritional Therapy, both at-home treatments. We also just moved into our corporate headquarters at 9300 E Raintree Drive, Suite 2, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. We are seeing patients at this facility who happen to be in the neighborhood and prefer this method of healthcare delivery. We are hoping that we will have two to three more Physicians joining us in this upcoming year.
