Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Avelin moved to Arizona to pursue her doctorate at Sonoran University of Health Sciences, where she earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. Her expertise spans a wide range of specialties, including:

She serves as an instructor at the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA) and teaches Regenerative Medicine at the University of Bridgeport, where she trains medical students and professionals in prolotherapy, PRP, and advanced injection therapies.
Dr. Avelin’s passion for medicine is deeply personal. Inspired by her mother’s struggle with chronic illness, she developed a lifelong commitment to root-cause healing and whole-person care. Her holistic approach addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health, helping patients achieve not only rapid healing but lasting vitality.
Beyond her medical expertise, Dr. Avelin brings more than 12 years of experience as a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor. She seamlessly integrates breathwork, meditation, and guided imagery into her patient care, empowering individuals to connect with their inner resilience and optimize both health and wellness.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Avelin is a devoted mother, an inspired cook, and an artist who enjoys painting. She also loves to explore the outdoors with her family — you might even find her paddling down the Salt River on a sunny Arizona day.
