Do You Take Medical Insurance?
No. Happily, no. One of the most critical distinctions in our model of care is the direct, personal relationship between you and your doctor. That same clarity and simplicity extends to our business model.
While insurance companies might be well-suited to negotiating the cost of a damaged fender, we believe they have no place dictating the quality or price of your medical care.
We deliberately forgo insurance payments to shield our patients from the arbitrary and often intrusive decisions that come with third-party payors. This direct fee-for-service model also frees us from the restrictive contracts that typically prevent physicians from ordering necessary lab tests, imaging, and medications without facing prior authorizations, forced alternatives, or outright denials.
Can I join Desert Mobile Medical if I have Medicare?
Yes. Patients with Medicare are welcome to join Desert Mobile Medical. To comply with federal guidelines, you’ll simply need to sign a one-time waiver stating that neither you nor your doctor will bill Medicare for services provided by our practice.
Medicare will still cover:
Lab tests
Imaging
Medications
Hospitalizations
…as long as they are prescribed by our physicians and performed by Medicare-approved providers/vendors/facilities.
This arrangement allows you to enjoy the benefits of personalized, concierge-level care while retaining your Medicare coverage for other medical needs.
Can Children Become Members Of Desert Mobile Medical?
Yes, of course they can! We see all age groups at Desert Mobile Medical.
As long as there is an accompanying guardian or adult family member who is a also a member.
Can I Contact My Physician After Hours? And How?
By all means, yes!
Because illness and injury do not respect regular office hours, you may call your physicians any day, at any hour. If you prefer, you may also use text messaging and video conferencing if that suits your needs.
*Certain plans/memberships do not allow for 24 hour coverage. Please check your plan or membership tier for 24 hour access.
Are My Medical Records Ever Shared With Insurance Carriers Or Pharmaceutical Companies?

Do I Still Need Medical Insurance If I’m A Patient With Desert Mobile Medical?
Yes, we recommend that our patients maintain a major medical insurance plan with a high deductible and a Health Savings Account (HSA). While our membership covers comprehensive primary care services, having insurance ensures you’re protected financially in the event of a hospitalization, emergency, or if you need to see a specialist outside our practice.
